So between now and when regulation is put into place, you don't see any ethical dilemma with software developers working for Tesla on a project where:
the boss is making claims about the software that likely cannot be met?
the company is taking money upfront for a product that does not exist yet and might not exist for years? Or might not be approved for use?
taking an approach to developing a technology that most of the other car companies abandoned because they thought it was too dangerous?
hiring programmers with no previous experience or training in building safety critical systems (this one is only a problem for me if they don't receive adequate training and supervision)?
not following best practices for building safety critical systems?
Sure, self driving cars are going to be developed. I don't have a problem with that. I take issue with the way in which it appears Tesla is going about it.
