re: Linus Torvalds takes a break from Linux VIEW POST

I really feel like Linus has never been especially scandalous, but he could really stand to be a better role model and this move to take a step back to focus on personal development seems great.

It can be hard to make the personal changes one needs when you're deep in the middle of your day-to-day. I respect Linus a lot more for this decision.

Unless I'm missing something about any particularly terrible thing he's done, I'd absolutely welcome him back with wide open arms once he takes some time to self-evaluate.

Really happy about this.

I hate to judge, but after 28 years of being a disrespectful turd, a lot of damage has been done.

Good for him that he's getting help, but I don't think we have tolerance for that kind of toxicity in our community anymore.

Don’t you think that developing the operating system that literally changed the world is a good enough role model?

Don’t you think that the mankind might be grateful enough to Linus to let him behave naturally and stop enforcing the rules on him? It’s XXI century, not the XVI anymore, but Americans still kill in the Bud whatever doesn’t apply to their majority ruled standards, as they did with Indians culture back in XVI.

I personally find what “the society” made to Linus being a perfect example of a brazen harassment, in the worst occurrence.
