There was a moment when I wanted to retrieve some data from a website. I knew if I did it through the console I'd get just what I needed.

I couldn't.

I relied so heavy on jQuery that I couldn't get what I needed from the console.

From that point I just stopped using jQuery!

Some of the posts I have read supporting the use of jQuery never took in consideration people like me which were using jQuery not to help with the issues that it might easily solve (I can't even remember them but I think there are few scenarios where using it might be wise) but because we do not know how to write JS. And that I think is bad.

And when ever I hear about jQuery I think "I could easily learn it if I need to".

So yes, drop jQuery and rest assured if you put all your energy into JS, you can easily figure jQuery out if you ever find the need to use it.
