This article rings very true, I found it by searching for the exact title :-) I'm currently moving my Rest API outside of a Vue SSR project. This because one day I might want to switch SPA frameworks and want to be able to do this as painless as possible. Another tip: Don't always try to find a library wrapper for your SPA lib of choice, sometimes using the native version makes a lot more sense and shields you from another layer of bugs. For me this was the case for the Leaflet maps library. Turned out the native version worked much better then vue-leaflet.
