I love your story! I really relate to your story. I was working in physical therapy clinics and was planning on becoming a physical therapist. I am now a Software Engineer at Microsoft. :)

Aww, good for you! I always love hearing from people who made the switch from a similar background to mine.

Tech is a great field (of course not without its problems, like any other field) and is filled with lots of amazing people. It’s comforting to know I’m surrounded by a group of people from many different walks of life.

Thanks for commenting! :)

Your story is exceptionally inspiring to me. I graduated with MS in Nursing, and immediately after graduating decided to homeschool. Well, my son is graduating from HS in a month, and will be starting college in August
I never worked a day in nursing since graduating, and the thought of having to work as a nurse gives me really bad anxiety. I absolutely loved homeschooling but like a good mama, I have to let my not so little anymore big kid attend college with his friends.
I am back to square one with the "what do I do with my life one?"question. I have been interested in computer related field since I sent my son to a youth computer camp during last summer. He build his own laptop and wrote a program (forgive me as I have no idea what it all means), and I think I was more impressed with what he came home with than he was.
I am in my forties and I am not sure that I can enter/survive in a field full of young and fast learning people. Although, I graduated top of my class both in my undergrad and graduate school, I somehow associate the computer field to be more youthful 😫 How old is too old? I want to be realistic.
