I also published a book on Leanpub (here for the curious. The process was much easier than doing it on Amazon and so far it earned me more than every other store. I especially like the "pay what you want" feature they have.
The only complain I have about the platform is that they used to have good prices to promote a book on their shelf and have it show in the homepage, now they increased the prices ridiculously and it seems nobody is paying for a shelf spot anymore considering I can only see 4-5 books on it at the moment.
Another downside to Amazon is that they only pay to PayPal, which is more inconvenient than a direct bank transfer, especially if my main currency is not usd.
Overall, best platform to self publish a programming book. Super easy to also convert it to a course, it took me only a couple of hours to publish my book as an interactive course.
