You've really got two options:

1) Get up to speed in a new language or technology and accept that in the short term you may need to take a step back to get onto that ladder in another company. This could mean you have a longer time horizon for your skills to stay relevant and let you keep getting work though.

OR

2) Double down on FoxPro and become the Go-To Guy for that in your local area. If places are invested in that as part of their infrastructure and other FoxPro devs are leaving the field, it means your skills suddenly became a lot scarcer and more valuable to anyone who needs them. The downside is that you could find there isn't enough local FoxPro work to sustain you after a period of time. And then it's back to square one.

Thank you.

The first option is my preference, although it honestly wouldn't be a step back at this point, but rather a step up from what I'm doing right now. Unfortunately I don't know what to focus on.

Option two isn't feasible. I don't know of any place else that uses Foxpro in this area, and I really want to get away from it, if possible.
