Never heard of Slimbook but I'd buy that. Despite the M1 being cool, you need to buy the M1 16Gb version to fully appreciate the CPU and it will you cost much more than the Slimbook.
At the end of the day, you're trading some performance, some battery and a good monitor for a cheaper valid alternative that you can also game on, your choice
If it's a personal choice yeah, especially I already have a huge monitor and I will unlikely use that beautiful but small 13" of the mac. WFH doesn't require the battery to last forever either. Jumping from 8G to 16G in ram is indeed expensive in mac series.
