13 million !! Wow !! No complain there, They had a plan and they saw it through. Kudos to them.
Onboarding took longer then I imagined. They have tags for a lot of stuff but then It get confusing midway. It feels they are trying to do a lot more on the platform. I could still see a lot of keywords like AI assistant, mentoring, volunteering, etc.
Interface is cool though, Hope they make a dark mode for it. 😂
Also I read your article, I could really feel you on the long list of tags, And yes, Once my onboarding was complete, I am trying to figure out what to do with it.
Like I said, over-hyped to feel under-whelmed. I will need to spend few days with it.
If you're looking to collaborate with someone in one of your proyects, you can head up to the space station and look for folks interested in collaborating there.
If you're just open to collaborate, having your tags and some highlights is good enough to be contacted by other users about projects they want you to collaborate with.
Still, I understand you, initially being used to other sites that have a lot of different sections, having basically just "3 sections: Multiverse, Space station and profile" feels like there is no much there, but part of what I like about it is the minimalist approach.
So why not call it "collaboration" and multiverse "discover" or "feed", they are just making it hard for themselves and that feeds into my "it is built by marketers" rather than developers syndrome! 🤣
Just look at how confusing people find the unicorn on DEV to know that "inside knowledge" is not a great idea from a UX perspective.
I think I will step up and use it so I can give a more rounded opinion when they fix the search box.
At the moment there is no way I can see to discover stuff about accessibility or web performance for example, so I would have to trawl through "software engineering" as one of the few tags you can get to.
Yup, that might have to go away in the final product. The naming feels a little like trying to extend the brand to simple stuff like sections. I can't blame them much, because some sites call the root route "home", others "feed", others "timeline". But yeah, having to learn new terminology for new folks just makes the ramp-up process a little steeper.
Space Station is not something I would easily associate with "collaboration" . I like wacky terminology but at least give accessible hints on what it is. Interface looks modern but it's not something I would call ease of use.
For further actions, you may consider blocking this person and/or reporting abuse

@lukeshiru said there was a dark mode, I couldn't find it so perhaps they can help?
Tried switching
prefers-color-scheme: dark
on but it did nothing for me 😋!They have a dark mode already, but for now you need to actually ask for it here: twitter.com/Polywork/status/142808...
Ah that explains it...also really strange, as surely it is just as easy to have a toggle button with the words "dark mode (experimental)" on it!
Guess they must be doing something server side with style sheets to make it work?
