After 2 months of waiting, I am still at around 4000 in waiting list. This makes me reconsider polywork as an alternative to platforms like LinkedIn. I do want to see some new alternative platform for professional networking but almost all the tweets or posts I see about polywork are sponsored content or influencer content.

Now this whole thing feels like a marketing hyping technique. Flood all internet with sponsored content, make user wait in line to generate fomo, then hook user.

Here polywork.com/invite/inhuofficial-c... you can "skip the queue".

The whole waiting list is just marketing hype + investor bull (we have 5000 people waiting to join is a great way to get investors excited), there are thousands of early access codes available so it isn't exclusive.

I am on your side about the hype, but who knows, maybe they will get there and deliver a good product so you might as well explore.

Have a read of the comments on my (evidentially not sponsored 🤣) article on PolyWork before you plunge in just to see what others think (ignore me being negative!).

Thanks, Finally this time an invite code worked. For past two months, all invite code I tried were already spent. Now I can get to see how polywork actually works.

there are thousands of early access codes available so it isn't exclusive.

I wasn't trying to imply that it is a scam, I am actually excited to see a new platform which could help expand my professional network, which is important for me as a freelancer. But I will say that there is some deliberate efforts given to generate hype among its user base, whether it was to attract investors or for some other technical reason. For first month, I was getting fomo as many influencers I follow had already signed up, then I slowly started to switch my emotion because I don't want to get over-hyped just to get under-whelmed.

Again, Thanks for a working invite code. My profile is Abhinav1217 if you would like to connect.

They hype is purely for investment, they just raised $13 million so you can't knock it, it worked!

I just hope that now they have that investment the hype turns into something useful!

Let me know how you get on as although I am negative about it I do want it to work as the concept of an alternative to LinkedIn sounds great!

13 million !! Wow !! No complain there, They had a plan and they saw it through. Kudos to them.

Onboarding took longer then I imagined. They have tags for a lot of stuff but then It get confusing midway. It feels they are trying to do a lot more on the platform. I could still see a lot of keywords like AI assistant, mentoring, volunteering, etc.

Interface is cool though, Hope they make a dark mode for it. 😂

Also I read your article, I could really feel you on the long list of tags, And yes, Once my onboarding was complete, I am trying to figure out what to do with it.

Like I said, over-hyped to feel under-whelmed. I will need to spend few days with it.

@lukeshiru said there was a dark mode, I couldn't find it so perhaps they can help?

Tried switching prefers-color-scheme: dark on but it did nothing for me 😋!
