- Make a new branch, and checkout to it. You can go back, in case you mess up.
git branch rename-app
git checkout rename-app
- Update the name in
app.jsonfiles (New name for your app)
ios/folder but before deleting...
- Remember you will lose all the changes you made throughout the app in these folders so its better to have back up, for example
react navigationconfiguration mentioned in documentation, linking
fonts and icons, app iconetc
react-native eject(this will generate android and ios folder once again with new configuration)
react-native link(to re-link all the libraries and packages)
- Go to
androidfolder and run gradlew clean to clean
Now back to main app
- Now run
You will see your app with new name you just created.

I know there is a package called react-native-rename but many people suggest on stackoverflow that we shouldn't use it, its not maintained and updated. May work fine in your case but I didn't try this.
