As someone who currently has to support a Magento 1 site, let's not forget that the big reason to migrate to M2 (or another platform) is that M1 is no longer supported. Running it means there's a risk to your PCI compliance as well as how and data breach would be viewed by the ICO or other data protection overseer in your area
