I think we all tend to fall in the "optimise later" camp at some point. It's important to constantly reevaluate coding practices on a project, and be comfortable with sacrificing overall codebase consistency with "from this point moving forward" consistency.
I struggle with the latter, and fall into refactor rabbit holes, so adopting the "optimise later" mode is something useful, just have to get out of it after I'm no longer in the hole. 😅
