StoneDB is the first integrated real-time HTAP open source database based on MySQL independently designed and developed by StoneAtom Technology . It can help MySQL users achieve smooth upgrade and obtain real-time data analysis capabilities. StoneDB has important features such as ultra-high performance, financial-grade high availability, real-time analysis, distributed database, compatibility with MySQL 5.6, MySQL 5.7 protocol and MySQL ecosystem. Its goal is to solve the problem that the MySQL database itself does not have the ability to analyze through the plug-in method, and provide users with a one-stop OLTP+OLAP solution.
StoneDB has been officially open sourced on June 29, 2022, and the construction of an open source community has been started. As a newly open source domestic database product, the StoneDB development team is well aware of the importance of open source community construction and cooperation, and the community ecological construction can achieve the effect of 1+1 far greater than 2 . Therefore, in the early stage of the establishment of the community, it actively participated in the ecological activities of the domestic database industry, hoping to jointly build a healthy database ecology with the domestic database industry and upstream and downstream partners in the open source field.
Huawei openGauss is an open source relational database management system with enterprise-level features such as multi-core high performance, full link security, and intelligent operation and maintenance. The openGauss kernel originated from the open source database PostgreSQL in the early days. It combines Huawei's years of kernel experience in the database field, and has been adapted and optimized in terms of architecture, transaction, storage engine, optimizer, and ARM architecture. As an open source database, openGauss expects to build an open source database community with diverse technologies together with a wide range of developers.
On August 4th, the StoneDB community joined hands with the Huawei openGauss community to sign a Contributor Agreement (CLA) with each other, formally forming an open source co -construction partnership . The purpose is to jointly build a big ecology of domestic open source databases, support each other, communicate data, empower the database industry, and achieve independent and controllable localization substitution.
In today's international environment, domestic databases must be successful, and they must be successful, which has become the consensus of the entire industry. The success of domestic databases must be built on the basis of open source and open source . This is the consensus of the open source community.
China's database field is very short of core R&D talents. In order to form a joint force to accelerate development, it must be open source and cooperative.
